Episode Transcript
[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hello.
[00:00:02] Speaker B: You guys, stop.
Is it mom o' clock yet? I'm going crazy.
[00:00:08] Speaker A: Heck, yeah. It's Mama Clock somewhere.
Welcome back to Mama Clock.
We're so happy to be here. And honestly, our last episode, we talked about a lot. About discipline, you know, judging other parents for disciplining in public.
Not judging. And being a good mom and sitting back and watching.
Yelling at your kids, not yelling at your kids. But, like, we're not here to talk about that anymore. You know what we are here to talk about?
[00:00:38] Speaker B: What? Silent killers.
[00:00:41] Speaker A: The bugs on the wall that watch
[00:00:44] Speaker B: your every move and don't say a word.
[00:00:47] Speaker A: And I'm just gonna have a disclaimer here. We are not talking about anybody specifically. Okay? But if the fucking Cinderella slipper fits.
[00:00:57] Speaker B: We're talking about you.
[00:00:58] Speaker A: We're talking about you.
[00:01:01] Speaker B: Got a tiptoe around here for real.
Have you ever noticed someone watches every single story we've had or every single post you've made, and they've never liked or commented or said a word about it?
[00:01:16] Speaker A: You know what's so funny? I think I subconsciously don't check who views my story. Like, I'm not a checker for my
[00:01:22] Speaker B: views, but I don't actually, I don't. Usually.
[00:01:24] Speaker A: I really don't.
[00:01:26] Speaker B: But now do Now.
[00:01:27] Speaker A: But now that I'm, like, a social media girly. Yeah, I'm in those views.
[00:01:32] Speaker B: You're looking.
[00:01:33] Speaker A: I know who's watching. She's watching, but I know who's not.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: It's actually sad that it's come to this.
[00:01:41] Speaker A: I don't. The reason why I don't say this out loud.
[00:01:43] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:43] Speaker A: Is. Is because I don't want to be the girl who is like, they didn't like my Instagram post. But, like, facts. Someone will come up to me like, I saw your TikTok. Really? Because you didn't say nothing. You didn't like it. You didn't message me about it. So my problem is, like, why do
[00:02:02] Speaker B: you think someone can be supportive without liking or commenting?
[00:02:06] Speaker A: You can't silently support because I have no idea you're supporting.
[00:02:10] Speaker B: But I'm just trying to play devil's advocate.
[00:02:11] Speaker A: No resharing, no reposting. Don't be devil's advocate. This is about you, too.
[00:02:15] Speaker B: No, no, I know. I'm gonna talk, too, but I'm just playing devil's advocate here, where, let's just say you have a friend and you know, they listen to every episode, they watch your stories. They're just not.
[00:02:25] Speaker A: How do you know?
[00:02:25] Speaker B: Commenters. They want to see oh, let's just say that, you know, that they're an avid listener. Or. Yeah, maybe, like, you don't know. But I'm just saying, let's pretend you do know.
They listen, but they don't say one word about it. Like, that's weird.
[00:02:39] Speaker A: Okay, so say that out loud. Exactly.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: No, no, I know.
[00:02:42] Speaker A: Like, once you. Like, when you think in your head, it's like you make up all these excuses. You're like, they're really busy. They have a family.
[00:02:47] Speaker B: It doesn't take long to, like, work.
[00:02:49] Speaker A: Like, I do that. That's why I don't. I keep my mouth shut. Because in my head, if I think about it, I run all the things. They're busy. They have a job, they have kids, they have a family. Because if you were to ever bring this up to an individual that you feel this way about, that's what they would say. It would be defensive. I'm busy.
[00:03:05] Speaker B: I work.
[00:03:06] Speaker A: That. That will never come out of my mouth. You will never hear me say, I'm too busy.
[00:03:10] Speaker B: No.
[00:03:11] Speaker A: I will die on that hill. Like, I will do a thousand things and still never say I'm.
[00:03:16] Speaker B: So it really doesn't take much or just like, a simple. Like, you're doing a good job or. Or even, like, the thing you said, it wasn't that funny. But, like, I watched it.
[00:03:24] Speaker A: Yeah, just tell me you watched it. Exactly. But, like, my problem is, like, I just.
So many people come up to me and say, I watch, I watch, I watch. I love your stuff. I love your content. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. But you're Just watch. Okay, but those are the people that probably, like.
[00:03:40] Speaker B: Are you talking about strangers?
[00:03:41] Speaker A: Strangers. Okay, good. Thank you so much. I feel supportive because, like, you're not my person. Like, I don't need you to, like, comment, subscribe.
[00:03:48] Speaker B: Right.
[00:03:48] Speaker A: I would love you to, but you're not obligated in my circle to be doing so.
[00:03:52] Speaker B: Right.
[00:03:53] Speaker A: Like, I have a friend who.
She is a social media girly, but she is the girly who likes to keep her phone at a distance because
[00:04:03] Speaker B: she knows any friends over this episode.
[00:04:05] Speaker A: No, I will not. Because she knows how much I appreciate her so much. And this is a good thing about her.
[00:04:09] Speaker B: Oh, okay. I thought you were going to go in a dark hole.
[00:04:11] Speaker A: No. Also, let's not go there.
That wasn't even a dark hole that we went in, so that was crazy.
[00:04:17] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: Anyway, she keeps her phone at a little bit of a distance because she knows it interrupts her, which I agree, because I'm like, sometimes I'm like, I put my phone.
[00:04:25] Speaker B: Like, she doesn't want to be on.
[00:04:26] Speaker A: Yeah, she knows. So. But when she is.
[00:04:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:29] Speaker A: She might not like, comment and, you know, do all those things. Every single thing.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:35] Speaker A: But every episode, this is her thing. Every episode, she'll make. Say something to me. Yeah, lighting looks great. Or Emily said this. This was so good. And it's every time. So I know even though she's not doing the liking the commenting and the
[00:04:50] Speaker B: reposting there and she's.
[00:04:52] Speaker A: I know she's doing other things. I'm not asking you to be a jack of all traits.
Like, I know she's invested because not only that, she's giving me tips on what to do.
[00:05:01] Speaker B: Right.
[00:05:02] Speaker A: Or what I can change. That's also a supportive friend. You don't need someone to comment. You look beautiful on every Instagram post. No, you need someone who just, you feel like is a little bit invested in what you're doing.
[00:05:14] Speaker B: 100%. I have friends like that. Like, I mostly.
[00:05:17] Speaker A: Your friends definitely are not.
[00:05:19] Speaker B: They are not commenters. No, my friends, My friends are like really shitty at social media. Like I would say almost all of them. But I know that they listen and they'll call me. Like, they'll tell me about this episode, but it'll just be like a phone call or like a text, like, I'm listening to this episode right now. Or, or Dom said this or so this. Or I could relate to this. Like, I know that they're listening and they're supporting in that way, most of them. And.
[00:05:42] Speaker A: But I feel like I'm not gonna say who, but I feel like a couple of your friends, like have a certain aesthetic on their Instagram.
[00:05:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:48] Speaker A: And they don't ever want to put anything else on their Instagram to everyone.
[00:05:52] Speaker B: Like, to a repost.
[00:05:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I just like, you know.
[00:05:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:56] Speaker A: To me, like, I mean, I don't
[00:05:57] Speaker B: think any of my friends care that much about their Instagram.
[00:06:00] Speaker A: No.
[00:06:00] Speaker B: I'm trying to think who.
[00:06:02] Speaker A: I don't know. But I'm just. I just feel like. I mean, I could. I just feel like. And I talk about this with my sister in law all the time. Like, I feel like when someone tags you in a post, unless you literally
[00:06:12] Speaker B: look, oh, like insane repost.
[00:06:14] Speaker A: But it's already up there. So, like, does it really matter that it's going on your Instagram? Like, it's, it's if it's the same people, but. So I feel like I, like I am never the person that doesn't put Stuff on my story.
[00:06:25] Speaker B: Well, I have to say I do. I will and do get butt hurt.
[00:06:29] Speaker A: 100 if you don't repost my shit.
[00:06:31] Speaker B: No, not even that. Like, if I see, like, you're posting about some other brand or like something that is just like, not on your page. Yeah, like, why aren't you doing that for me? Yeah, if I'm reposting it. And like, you could do that. So. Yeah, I get that.
[00:06:46] Speaker A: But it's also. Okay, we'll go there. But I'm also talking about, like, if I tag you in something, I'm reposting it 100%.
[00:06:52] Speaker B: Unless I absolutely look like a bag of garbage.
[00:06:53] Speaker A: Unless you look at a bag of garbage, like, I understand.
[00:06:55] Speaker B: Then I'll just call you. Like, why'd you post that?
[00:06:58] Speaker A: That's. I mean, like, call me and tell me to take it down.
[00:07:00] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:07:00] Speaker A: But I just feel like people are so worried about how much they post on at once on their page or what they look like when they're reposting, which I understand. Like, if you don't look good, I get it. But like, I know people who, anytime you tag them, like, they won't repost it unless it, like, fits their aesthetic.
[00:07:17] Speaker B: Right.
[00:07:17] Speaker A: But I've seen on social media, like,
[00:07:19] Speaker B: you know, people like that. I don't think my people are people.
[00:07:22] Speaker A: I mean, you're are not social media.
[00:07:24] Speaker B: They are not social media people at all.
[00:07:26] Speaker A: But.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: Which is why I think I don't get that hurt that they're not commenting on our stuff.
[00:07:31] Speaker A: But also on another side, you should be like, well, I am.
[00:07:34] Speaker B: So you start commenting. Yeah, I mean, if you don't do you're that friends. All of them, you motherfuckers. Start commenting.
[00:07:39] Speaker A: I mean, like, you have a lot of friends and none of them say anything. Like, I think they don't. So I think they should.
[00:07:43] Speaker B: Okay. Start talking.
[00:07:45] Speaker A: And I don't think they don't support us, but I just think, like, my
[00:07:48] Speaker B: thing is I know who supports me. Like, I. With the conversations I have. And I don't necessarily need a comment, but I do need. I need something. I need something from them.
[00:08:01] Speaker A: Of course.
[00:08:01] Speaker B: Yeah, So I get that. But I want to get down to the nitty gritty of why some of these people in our lives.
[00:08:08] Speaker A: Can I just finish my thought before I forget? Because, you know, I can't sit on a thought.
[00:08:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:12] Speaker A: I've seen on social media, like, girls saying, like, let's normalize. If your photo is not aesthetic, I'm not reposting it.
[00:08:20] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:08:21] Speaker A: People are saying that. Which is going against what I'm saying. Like if it's not. But I got.
[00:08:25] Speaker B: You want them to post it no matter what.
[00:08:27] Speaker A: Like, I just think like I.
In my head it's like you.
Unless you are getting paid.
[00:08:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:35] Speaker A: To be aesthetic.
[00:08:36] Speaker B: Right.
[00:08:37] Speaker A: You need to calm down.
[00:08:38] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:08:39] Speaker A: Like if you're not reposting something because it doesn't fit your aesthetic. Aesthetic that day or your aesthetic on Instagram, like, that's insane. Especially if you're like an average Joe.
[00:08:49] Speaker B: Right. Like.
[00:08:50] Speaker A: Like who the are you to not repost?
[00:08:53] Speaker B: Right?
[00:08:53] Speaker A: Not. I'm saying me because I'm the one talking. But does anybody.
[00:08:56] Speaker B: Right.
[00:08:57] Speaker A: Like, unless you're getting paid to be aesthetic, like, you have no reason to not repost something that like is like a family oriented or friend oriented or just like something you're involved in.
[00:09:08] Speaker B: I.
[00:09:08] Speaker A: Especially if you're in the picture.
[00:09:10] Speaker B: I agree.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: So anyway, I'm done taking offense to it. But I do get offended with like some people.
[00:09:16] Speaker B: Yeah. But I tell them I think the hard truth is that strangers really give us. Especially we're trying to grow a brand and we're obviously talking about her because
[00:09:28] Speaker A: we're growing a business. I'm not talking about 10 years ago when I'm just like rinky dink Instagram.
[00:09:33] Speaker B: No.
[00:09:34] Speaker A: I'm growing a business.
[00:09:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:09:36] Speaker A: So like, this is like coming to my restaurant.
[00:09:39] Speaker B: Right.
[00:09:40] Speaker A: And eating at my restaurant.
[00:09:42] Speaker B: I. I think I finish your thought. No, I think strangers are often more our biggest fans than our family and friends.
[00:09:51] Speaker A: Without a doubt, the.
[00:09:52] Speaker B: And like the amount of times we have like DMS of random moms that we don't know. That's like you said, you said this. And it really got me through this time. And like, I think that's what some of our friends and family don't see because obviously they're not on our account like that. And like that's what gets us. Gets me through some of the times where I'm like, I don't want to fucking talk about this right now. But I know that that person in Alabama is going to exactly comment. And we have that one girl that liked every single one of my things from the beginning. I was like stalkerish.
[00:10:22] Speaker A: But I'm also talking like, I just want to make it clear. I'm talking about the people who are on. And I know we kind of said your friends thing, but they're also your best friends. Like they maybe should try a bit harder. Like, no offense, but I feel like they should even though. But I'm gonna say this. On siding with them.
[00:10:39] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:40] Speaker A: Like, I feel like I'm talking about the people who are on social media, right. Who are commenting on other people's things, posting other people's things, watching other people's things, talking about other people's things. Like, I'm talking about those people who I know are social media people.
[00:10:55] Speaker B: Right.
[00:10:55] Speaker A: And are not supporting the business.
[00:10:58] Speaker B: I.
I just know my friends are just not those social media people.
[00:11:03] Speaker A: So maybe they should delete Instagram.
[00:11:05] Speaker B: They're just scrollers.
[00:11:07] Speaker A: Like, okay. I think it's like, no, why have people? But I don't. I just, I'm sorry, I just can't wrap my head around the fact that you have a group of eight girls and they're the best group of girls with like, like none of them are, are like not good friends. Not saying that. Yeah, but don't you.
I just can't wrap my head around the fact that they have Instagram, they know technology. They're just. You're say this out loud. They just aren't social media people. They don't. They just don't like and comment. Like, that's, that's a really weird thing to say out loud.
[00:11:39] Speaker B: Yeah, but it's, it's just crazy. Like that I wonder why that.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: I just don't get that. I don't think there's any reason. I don't think it's on purpose. I just, like, I'm just confused. Like, then why are you on social media?
For my mother in law, for instance. I know. And my mom, like, they're not, like, they don't understand.
[00:11:57] Speaker B: Like my mom. Yeah, like, like, but that's the thing.
[00:12:00] Speaker A: I know here and there my mom
[00:12:02] Speaker B: is our biggest supporter and I know that. And she's never commented or liked anything because she.
[00:12:06] Speaker A: Correct.
[00:12:06] Speaker B: But you not. She doesn't know how.
[00:12:07] Speaker A: But like that, that's the type of person that's like, not in our generation. Like, she does not that. Yeah, you know, like, I don't know. Like, I mean, first of all, she
[00:12:15] Speaker B: doesn't even have an Instagram. Everything's on Facebook.
[00:12:18] Speaker A: I don't know. I just feel like they utilize Instagram. Do they not?
[00:12:22] Speaker B: What?
[00:12:22] Speaker A: Like people, you know, utilize Instagram that aren't liking and commenting.
[00:12:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:12:26] Speaker A: So don't you think it's weird?
[00:12:29] Speaker B: Yes, but I'm not talking about my friends that I. There are, there are friends and family that definitely do that. But I know my core group of girls, the ones that I know that are supportive of us. Like, I don't need, I don't necessarily need them to comment. Like, I don't need that from.
[00:12:44] Speaker A: People know that it would help our business grow.
[00:12:48] Speaker B: It's not like if they were like, reposting, like.
[00:12:50] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about. They don't need them to like or comment. I don't need anybody to.
[00:12:54] Speaker B: Yeah, like, you need people to repost.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: Unfortunately, that's how Instagram works. Like, you have to grow your business by people doing that.
[00:13:00] Speaker B: Yeah, that's true.
That's true. Right. Start reposting us.
[00:13:04] Speaker A: That's just my problem.
[00:13:06] Speaker B: Yeah, it's not nice.
[00:13:09] Speaker A: I'm not saying it's not nice. I don't think they're doing it on purpose. I don't think anybody does it on purpose.
[00:13:13] Speaker B: Oh, I think some people do it on purpose. They don't want to repost us.
[00:13:16] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I mean, we can get into that too.
You want to get into that?
[00:13:20] Speaker B: We could.
[00:13:20] Speaker A: Okay, so what's next?
[00:13:22] Speaker B: No, but that is the hard truth that it just. It is, it's. And it's.
We've talked to other influencers and guests that we've had on here that people that actually know us. It's weird because I think people that like, know us, like, really know us, and then they're watching us on social media, it's like they, they don't feel like they have to support maybe in that way because, like, they know us and they don't want.
I don't know, I think it's easier for so many siders. It's easier for outsiders to support us because they don't know our everyday. They don't know us like that. So it's like, not that we're celebrities or anything, but it's like looking at like, think about like, Giggly Squad or the toast. Like, do you think that their people watch every single episode of their. Like, I. I bet, I bet if we interviewed them, they would say their closest people probably don't.
[00:14:14] Speaker A: I'm on social media a lot and I feel like I see girls or guys, like, how much they support each other. I'm like, oh my God, this person comments and likes and shares and just even like a quick post to their story saying, like, once in a while, like, I feel like I see that. So my problem is if. If.
[00:14:37] Speaker B: Why are you not getting it in return?
[00:14:39] Speaker A: Why? And it's like, why aren't you doing that for other people? Like, if one of my close friends was, like, trying to grow something on social media, like, I would Be all over that shit. Like, I see some people every day.
[00:14:50] Speaker B: It's not like all of our friends are trying to grow something on social media. It's like, this is our thing.
[00:14:55] Speaker A: We're business. But I'm saying, like, I see certain people commenting on every single person's tick tock over and over again. And why can't you do that to mine?
[00:15:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:07] Speaker A: Like, I don't get why. Yeah, it makes me feel like a big fat joke. You think this is not serious, right?
[00:15:12] Speaker B: I think that's. I think it's different if, like, they are a person that you see.
[00:15:17] Speaker A: Like, I'm mostly talking about that.
[00:15:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:21] Speaker A: Like, I know you're on social media. You're just not doing it because you selflessly don't want to ruin your own esthetic.
[00:15:26] Speaker B: I think that's. Yeah.
[00:15:27] Speaker A: And it's like. Or like, why aren't you commenting? Like, I've run these things to my head. Like, you don't want other people to see you commenting. You don't want someone to say something.
[00:15:35] Speaker B: Yeah, no, it is. It's a weird light to be in when you, when you're on. When you're in some sort of spotlight.
[00:15:41] Speaker A: It really is.
[00:15:41] Speaker B: Yeah. When you're in some sort of spotlight and you're in your people that you think are supposed to be your people, you feel like a stranger is more supportive than. Yeah. And then.
[00:15:53] Speaker A: And then you, like, and then you spiral.
You see your people when, like, there's a million people coming. Like, if it's like a video, good video, and you see like, all my friends commenting, and then that one person will comment. Meanwhile, where the you been?
[00:16:04] Speaker B: Right?
[00:16:05] Speaker A: Like, you know, they want to make sure that people know that they're involved too. Meanwhile, there's no support. And I'm not talking about anybody in my personal life. Like, I'm talking about just, like, I'm just talking about, like, people that I know that you're on social media. And like.
And I'm talking on two sides of my mouth because I'm not asking for like. Or we. I should say we're not asking for someone to be there every step of the way. I mean, people have lives. Like, I'm not asking for that.
[00:16:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:16:33] Speaker A: But like, I know if I'm on Instagram and I see one of my friends that I saw at a coffee shop 2 days ago post a picture on Instagram and I see of them
[00:16:43] Speaker B: of the coffee shop. Like that.
[00:16:45] Speaker A: No, like, so I saw one of my friends at a coffee shop the other week, and then She, I was scrolling and I happened. And I didn't do this because I saw her, but because she's my friend and I saw her picture, her carousel picture on Instagram. I liked it. I commented on it. Like, she looks so cute in it, but like, I don't comment and like all of her pictures. But, like, I will message her a couple times. I will, like, I will still be there so she knows I'm there.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: Yeah, well, you're, you're one of those people that, you are a social media person. So.
[00:17:13] Speaker A: Yeah, I see it too much.
[00:17:14] Speaker B: If you see it, you're gonna comment. And if you want to be that, that kind of support in that sort of way of the world of social media, you will be that person.
Yeah.
[00:17:24] Speaker A: Like, I feel like maybe you don't get as butthurt as I do unless I, like, bring it up to you. Like, I don't know.
[00:17:30] Speaker B: Yeah, well, I just think that I come from a different era of social media. Like, I don't like you. You're. You're trying to be an influencer. Like, you're influencing. So I'm not there. Like, I don't, I don't care as much in that way, but I do still care about people supporting us and like, yeah. Growing our brand and.
[00:17:48] Speaker A: Yeah, it's just like, I don't know, I just feel like it's upsetting that like what you see online, like, you just see so many people supporting other things and other people and talking about things. But, like, is it that hard for you to do that with me? Like, you're not gonna support me until I become successful. The reason I am going to get successful is if you're with me along the way.
[00:18:07] Speaker B: Right.
Yeah, you know, it's true. So I have a friend who like
[00:18:13] Speaker A: reshares my dress by Dom all the time. And like, I appreciate it so much.
[00:18:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:18:17] Speaker A: And I'm not asking everybody to do that.
[00:18:18] Speaker B: Right.
[00:18:19] Speaker A: But it's only way I'm going to grow.
[00:18:22] Speaker B: It's true.
[00:18:23] Speaker A: By people supporting me. And especially with Mama Clock, we are not going to grow unless we have people in our corner.
[00:18:30] Speaker B: Right.
[00:18:31] Speaker A: Like talking about us, sharing us at least. Like, your friend calls you and says, I just sent this video to. That's something.
[00:18:40] Speaker B: Yes, you're right. You're 100% correct.
[00:18:43] Speaker A: But if you're not doing that, you're not telling me you're doing that. All I have to go to show is likes, comments, shares, dms. That's all I got to show. You're not texting me you're not calling me, so I don't know. Yeah.
[00:18:54] Speaker B: And it's hard and it's, it's.
[00:18:56] Speaker A: And it's hard to say that out loud. And it's the first time I am saying it at odd because.
[00:18:59] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:18:59] Speaker A: People like, will be like, well, Dom, like, I don't have to do that for you.
[00:19:05] Speaker B: No. But if you're not telling me in any other way. Yeah.
[00:19:07] Speaker A: I feel like I'm not supported.
[00:19:09] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:09] Speaker A: It's hard when you're in this. You. You truly see who's in your corner and who's not.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:15] Speaker A: And that's why I can't wait until we are huge.
Because then who's gonna come running?
[00:19:22] Speaker B: Knock knock.
[00:19:23] Speaker A: Exactly.
[00:19:25] Speaker B: No. Yeah. I mean it is, it is. It's a weird thing to be in the, in the, in the public eye and not feel supported by.
[00:19:33] Speaker A: I mean, I'm sorry. My sister in law comments on every single one of my videos.
[00:19:36] Speaker B: She is, she is.
[00:19:37] Speaker A: I mean, that's like. I mean, most of the people I know are on social media.
[00:19:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:42] Speaker A: And they're liking.
[00:19:43] Speaker B: Mm.
[00:19:43] Speaker A: I think it's just like, what's it to you not to throw me a comment?
[00:19:47] Speaker B: Mm.
[00:19:48] Speaker A: Like it does grow engagement. It just does.
[00:19:50] Speaker B: Yep. That's how engagement goes.
[00:19:51] Speaker A: Like, because you don't want to. Like. Let's talk about the reason why you wouldn't.
Let me talk about the reason why I wouldn't. Like, if I'm like scrolling.
[00:19:59] Speaker B: Mm.
[00:20:01] Speaker A: Sometimes I go back and I comment. Like, why wouldn't I comment on that? I'm just gonna comment on this. But I feel like the reason why I wouldn't is I'm. I'm getting pulled by my kid.
[00:20:10] Speaker B: Right.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:11] Speaker B: That's in that exact moment.
[00:20:13] Speaker A: That's a huge reason why I wouldn't.
I still would make time though. I would still. Like.
[00:20:19] Speaker B: I mean, it doesn't take that long
[00:20:20] Speaker A: to like something or comment or like put on your story. Share it, whatever it is.
[00:20:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:20:25] Speaker A: Or like, send me my video. I'm like, this was so funny.
[00:20:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:20:28] Speaker A: But like, if you're on social media and you're scrolling and you're seeing our video and not liking and commenting it, I think that's really weird.
Like, I'm just. I have to say it out loud. I think it's really weird. I think it's weird.
[00:20:41] Speaker B: Yeah. I think I agree.
[00:20:43] Speaker A: And.
But if you don't see it, it's a different story.
[00:20:48] Speaker B: Yes.
But we see who sees it.
[00:20:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:20:52] Speaker B: So how do we handle this? What do we do?
I think we have to focus on building our brand, and it's not to ignore convincing people. Like, we don't have to convince anyone that.
[00:21:05] Speaker A: I feel like I have to. Well, like, sometimes I feel like.
Like, don't you feel like. I mean, sometimes you just have to be like, hey, just post this video. Can you come and. Like, can you.
[00:21:14] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, I feel like we're growing organically. Totally in that way. Yeah.
[00:21:18] Speaker A: Because we don't open our mouths about it. You definitely don't. And I will say it here, but, like, I don't want to say it to people because I don't want them to be forced to do anything. I want them to organically, authentically, like, like us. Like us.
[00:21:32] Speaker B: I don't want to. I don't want to have to buy likes. Yeah. Right.
Okay, well, let's end on a positive note. Okay. And talk about how one supportive comment can completely change our day. Like, truly, one thing. I mean, if Nicolette comments, I'm like, I'm so happy.
[00:21:47] Speaker A: Me too. Me too.
[00:21:48] Speaker B: No, it really does.
[00:21:49] Speaker A: Seriously.
[00:21:50] Speaker B: So, Nicolette, thank you so much.
Let.
[00:21:53] Speaker A: Thank you. Being our biggest supporter, Mia.
[00:21:55] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:21:55] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:55] Speaker B: And, Mia, um. But, yeah, so just to end on a positive note, like, if you see something not. I'm not even talking about, like, with us, like, you could send a text. You could. You could just be that support in
[00:22:08] Speaker A: knowing that that's a. If it's not your world, that's okay, but it's our world. That's what I'm trying to say to you and to everybody. Like, it's not your world, and that's okay, but it's mine.
[00:22:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: Like, it's my world. It's as if you won a trophy. I didn't say congratulations.
[00:22:24] Speaker B: Right.
And celebrate us while we're still building and not when we've actually made it.
[00:22:29] Speaker A: Like, that's the problem.
[00:22:30] Speaker B: Being with us in this journey of creating something. Like, we have everything on the line right here. Like, we're doing this, mama, and we're committed.
[00:22:39] Speaker A: Like, and my friend shout out to Val. She constantly is like, I promise you the hard work will pay off.
[00:22:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:22:45] Speaker A: And, like, I get emotional about it because I'm like, what am I doing this for? I'm doing it for the people, But I don't feel. Feel it back. Like, this is for the people. This is all for the people. I know I'm doing this for myself, of course, and to make money and to, you know, accomplish something for myself, but I'm doing it for everybody watching.
[00:23:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:23:03] Speaker A: And, like, what's the point if no one's supporting that?
[00:23:05] Speaker B: Especially, I think it comes down to,
[00:23:07] Speaker A: like, best friend or friend or acquaintance had a podcast. Like, yeah, yeah, but that's just me. I'm, like, such a. I'm such. That.
[00:23:14] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, you're the hype girl. You're. You're that. And I think it just. It's. It makes sense when they don't. It. It. It hurts us the most because we, like, what we're building is, like, such a vulnerable thing where we're actually talking about our lives and our people. And, like, we do. We do think about what we say before we say it, because we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or, like, a lot of family dynamics that are happening in our personal lives. Like, we want to tell the world what's happening, but also we don't want to make anybody upset. So, like, when we do say stuff, we're, like, always thinking about, like, is someone gonna like that? Or not like that. I mean, it's a scary thing to do. It is.
In this world and this brand and mama clock that we're building, it is. It is scary, and it's. It's vulnerable of us to do this. And we appreciate all.
[00:23:59] Speaker A: How many times would they say, like, how are we not. How do I not get upset when I don't get support back?
[00:24:03] Speaker B: Right.
[00:24:04] Speaker A: Like, silence.
[00:24:06] Speaker B: Silence.
[00:24:06] Speaker A: Like, at least heart something.
It's crazy. Drop the mic everywhere. But it's everywhere. It's weird. If you're closed circle is not saying anything. It's weird. Mm.
[00:24:20] Speaker B: It is. It's weird.
People are. You people are weird. Yeah.
[00:24:26] Speaker A: And I just. I just, like, I think it's really weird also.
[00:24:31] Speaker B: It's like, if you know how much it would mean to us to do it, maybe this is the episode that it'll click. Like, it means so much to us.
[00:24:38] Speaker A: So much.
[00:24:39] Speaker B: Like, honestly, like, I know the people that I. That I have in my head that I know are supportive of us, but
[00:24:45] Speaker A: would you feel better if they were to show support?
[00:24:49] Speaker B: Yes. If they. If they would. If they would like it. Comment, repost.
Send it to a group chat. That was. Send it to me. That was funny. Send it to me. Yes, that would be.
[00:25:00] Speaker A: I had one of Michael's employees text me yesterday a TikTok from somebody else. This girl tagged me in a TikTok and said, thank you for posting about this nail salon. I went, and her TikTok blew up. Yeah, she tagged me because I'm the one who shared it.
[00:25:14] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:25:15] Speaker A: And this I'm friends with her, but I'm like, I'm not close.
[00:25:18] Speaker B: Close with her.
[00:25:18] Speaker A: And she sends me. She's like, you're famous. Like, do you know how much that meant to me?
[00:25:22] Speaker B: No.
[00:25:23] Speaker A: And I need that, like, once every four months. I don't give a fuck. But that meant so much to me.
[00:25:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, no, it definitely.
[00:25:29] Speaker A: It's like, what is the reason people aren't doing that?
[00:25:31] Speaker B: It goes a long way. One little thing goes a long way, especially with what we're trying to build.
[00:25:37] Speaker A: And honestly, like, it's hard not to take notes. Like, you just. You could. You could take notes and I. And like, it's hard. It's okay. Like, back to your friends, for example. They don't do it ever. So you can't butt her by it because they don't ever do it. But then you see people who do it but don't do it for you. It's like, okay. And then you see people who, you know are social media people. And I'm not talking like, I mean, I would call you a social media person. I mean, you always post.
[00:25:59] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:26:00] Speaker A: So like, if you're not, like, liking and commenting, like, that's weird because you're always.
[00:26:05] Speaker B: If you know that they're on their
[00:26:06] Speaker A: phone and you're on Instagram and I know you're on your phone.
[00:26:09] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:26:09] Speaker A: So maybe I don't see you in other people's comment sections, but I know you're on your phone. And I know.
I know when I'm trying to think about me. Like, you specifically. I know when you're busy because you'll miss a video or something. When you're on your phone, you're going to. You're going to be there for me.
[00:26:24] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:26:25] Speaker A: That's what I'm talking about, though. Why wouldn't people do that?
I'm talking about for us, too. Not even just me. I know I'm saying me, but I'm saying, like.
[00:26:32] Speaker B: No, I know what you're saying. I know.
[00:26:34] Speaker A: Like, if my fucking just posted a picture, I would be the first one in their comment section.
[00:26:39] Speaker B: Yeah.
Yeah.
[00:26:41] Speaker A: Like, I just would be.
[00:26:43] Speaker B: I know.
Same.
[00:26:46] Speaker A: So do you know why people wouldn't be?
[00:26:49] Speaker B: They hate us.
[00:26:51] Speaker A: Like, it's hard not to think that everybody hates us.
[00:26:55] Speaker B: I don't know. No, but, like, the, the.
The main things people would say that why people don't support is jealousy, which I don't think that's the case.
[00:27:08] Speaker A: I mean, there's always a fine line of jealousy in regards to not maybe Jealous of you, but jealous of the fact, like, do you ever see, like, Elf on the Shelf? You brought it up last episode. Another mom doing it. You're low key jealous that she looks like a cool mom and a fun mom. So then you do it.
Well, that's a little bit of envious.
That's envy. You're being envious of what she's doing.
[00:27:29] Speaker B: Yeah, but that's different than. I don't think that's jealous.
[00:27:32] Speaker A: That's being that. So why are you doing it then?
[00:27:36] Speaker B: I think it's like showing face. It's like, I want to. I want to. I want to be like that.
[00:27:40] Speaker A: Yeah, you want to be like that.
[00:27:42] Speaker B: Right.
[00:27:42] Speaker A: So that's a little bit of being envious of what she's doing. Not her, but what she's doing.
[00:27:46] Speaker B: Right.
[00:27:46] Speaker A: So that's it. That's jealousy.
[00:27:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:27:49] Speaker A: Jealousy is not always, like, she's prettier than me, she's skinnier than me. It's not always jealousy.
[00:27:54] Speaker B: Right. It could be like that mom has
[00:27:55] Speaker A: a cool aesthetic in her kitchen.
I want to do that. That's being envious of the fact that she has that. Mom's doing Elf on the Shelf. I want to do that for my kids. That's being envious of what she's doing for her kids.
[00:28:07] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, I could see that.
[00:28:09] Speaker A: So somebody could be jealous of the fact that we are starting a business and they're not and they want to.
[00:28:15] Speaker B: Right. Or I think it can go with, like, they don't.
[00:28:18] Speaker A: Which I never resort to jealousy, but people always say it's the number one thing. I don't resort to it. Yeah, but it is the number one thing.
[00:28:23] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, it definitely. That's what people say. And it definitely could be. But also, like, maybe they assume you don't need their support. Like, they.
[00:28:31] Speaker A: Which I'm confused about. Like, yeah, I feel that way towards me a lot. Like, I feel like people think I have so many.
[00:28:37] Speaker B: Like, people are like, oh, she's good. Like, she doesn't need it. But, like, we're screwed from the top of a mountain.
[00:28:43] Speaker A: I feel like people look at me my whole life and they never thought that I needed the attention. Well, I always have so many people in my life, but I do.
[00:28:49] Speaker B: I also think it might come down to people don't necessarily know how much a like or a comment could actually mean.
Especially if you're not on the other side. Like, if you don't. If you really don't give a shit about those things and you're not trying to build something and get engagement and share things and make things go more viral. Let's just say then maybe they're not even thinking, like, they're just scrolling. They're like, oh, oh, that was funny. And like, just not.
[00:29:17] Speaker A: I agree, because I've done that right.
[00:29:19] Speaker B: So, like, that could be it.
[00:29:20] Speaker A: I mean, like, it's not about the likes, it's not about how many comments, but it's just about feeling supported, I think feeling supported, number one and two, like, helping us grow.
[00:29:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:29:29] Speaker A: Like, that's how Instagram and TikTok and all the social media works. Like, the more likes, the more views, the more comments, the more shares. That is why you're going to blow up. And more people in this world are going to see you if more people push it out that way.
[00:29:43] Speaker B: Right.
So make this a real. And let's see how many likes we
[00:29:46] Speaker A: can get on this video.
At the end of the day, I just want to end on a positive note. Like you said, like, we do appreciate the ones that do support us. Oh, yeah, we really do. And I. I want to say this from the bottom of my heart. It means so much.
Getting a small text, sending me a video, texting me, seeing in person, and then like, me actually seeing you show up. Like, showing up just in general, like, showing up matters so much to me right now in my life. I can't even explain not showing up is known. Like, you could see in this era of our life, the people who show up and the people who do not. So I really do appreciate, and I
[00:30:26] Speaker B: think it does go a long way, that silence does speak louder than words.
[00:30:30] Speaker A: I mean, there's a lot of people who watch silently. Also, I think I don't support loudness.
[00:30:35] Speaker B: I also think it's weird when, like, if you see me or like, just if you don't even. Like, the only thing I have in. I'm a mother. I take that that's the first thing that I have in my life. And that's the only thing that I've cared about for so many years now. But now I have this new thing where it's mom o' clock, and it's like, if you don't.
If you don't ask me how it's going, it's like, then what am I doing? Like, ask me about my kids, whatever. It's like, okay, so, you know, like, you. You know, I've started this.
[00:31:04] Speaker A: That's the problem. People know.
People know that we do this and they don't say one word.
[00:31:09] Speaker B: Right.
[00:31:10] Speaker A: So the only thing I have to think about is that you just don't like what we're doing or you don't like us.
[00:31:14] Speaker B: Right. So I'm gonna go cry in a corner.
[00:31:17] Speaker A: It really, truly upsets me as much as, like, you could talk about it and how angry you get about it. It's upsetting. At the end of the day, I'm not mad at you. I'm upset.
[00:31:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: You know, and I'm not saying you as any specific person, but I'm just saying, like, if you have five minutes of your day, like, showing support and love means the world.
[00:31:37] Speaker B: Yeah. So take that in, everybody.
[00:31:40] Speaker A: Yeah. And again, we appreciate the ones who do. But we can't grow without you.
[00:31:46] Speaker B: And we will grow, though.
[00:31:47] Speaker A: We will without you. So off.
[00:31:51] Speaker B: Gotta go. Clocking out.
[00:31:52] Speaker A: All right, we're clocking out. Love you.
[00:31:54] Speaker B: Bye.
